Baby Gifts Galore!

Phew!  Sorry I wasn't around yesterday...been a busy weekend with my early Mothers Day present!!  Hubby was sweet enough to dig and prepare a vegi garden for me...now all I've got to do is plant the seeds and grow some vegi's!!

Also, I've been busy making some baby toys for another lady expecting!  I made 2 burb clothes (much these that I blogged about awhile ago), a loopy blankie toy, a loopy jingle ball (I blogged about some here), a crinkle cube, and a boppy pillow cover!

Here is my tut on a Cute Crinkle Cube!
Its super easy and baby loves it!

(I forgot to take a finished pic!!  Sorry!)

I have a bunch of toys for Sam that 'crinkle and I thought "I could make that!"  Guess what I used...?
WAX PAPER!

What you need: 2 coordinating fabrics (I used a soft flannel), stuffing, wax paper, sewing machine, thread, scissors

First I cut out 6 squares (3 in each fabric) about 3x3 but you could make in any size really.
Tear a piece of wax paper and crinkle it up.
Cut 2-4 squares from the wax paper to fit your fabric squares.
Start sewing your cube together attaching the wax paper to a few sides of the cube.
I didn't bother pinning the squares...pretty straight forward.  Finish sewing all the way around the cube including the top and bottom.  Be sure to leave one edge open to turn right side out.
Start stuffing (I threw in a few extra pieces of wax paper in with the stuffing for a little more crinkle!)
I added a ribbon loop for baby to hold or for mom to attach linky things too.
Then stitch up your seam and your all done!!

Don't forget about Mad Skills Monday!  Head on over to link up and share your stuff!

  2. Very cute! I made some crinkly stuff using baby wipes wrappers. That works pretty well too and it nice to use something that would be thrown away otherwise! :)

  9. Great idea! I've made quite a few soft blocks in the past and used some jingle bells inside, but the wax paper is wonderful! Thanks!
