Now that I can take pics...check out what I've been up to...
I recently landed an awesome job as an art instructor for night classes at the G'nosh Studio in Frisco, TX.  Having an awesome time so far and loving the classes.  Check out my audition piece!

This is a recreation of the creative art directors original painting called "Crazy Cow".  I really enjoyed painting it and love all the color!  I really like the directors paintings as they mimic a lot of my own style (see here) and she has introduced a few new tricks to me that I'm totally lov'n!
I'll post more pics later on this week.

Now its your turn to share!  Here's what you do:

1. Link up something crafty, creative, or fun that you wanna share!

2. Please link to the blog post and not your main page.

3. No shopping pages please.  An offer to buy your item at the end of a tut is welcomed!

4. Snag the Mad Skills button and include it on your tut post so others can see where you've linked!  (PS- this button was designed from my sons art work....if you are interested in a custom button, please contact me!)

All Boy House

Hi folks...I know I've been a little AWAL this week, but good news...I found my camera!!!  And hubby didn't really loose it...I did.
Apparently I left it in a folding chair at our 4th of July bash...and forgot about it.  Luckily a family member was keeping it safe for me.

Anyhoo!  I have a great feature for you today.  She came across SSB and told me about her Etsy shop...

If you've got a boy that is totally in to Star Wars...check her out.  Fun and safe soft swords!
A combo I can go for.

Plenty of colors to choose from and I've seen a few pirate swords sold on there for the buckaroo's in the family.

So head on over, check her shop out and tell her SSB sent ya!

A Little Gray

So I was wanting to feature someone today for a number of reasons...one being that I can't find my dumb camera to show off my own stuff...but mainly because I get a fuzzy feeling when I am featured, right?

Why not pass that along to others!?  Especially when there is so much fun stuff to discover!

So here we go!  I browsed thru the blogs I follow and randomly picked out A Little Gray...the cutest little blog with such great stuff to share.  I was actually really excited to "discover" it again!  It was like finding a $20 in your winter jacket!

Check out this cute little zipper bag she made!

She even provides the tut she followed...very helpful.

And you must absolutely check out her Etsy Shop!!!  The cutest little things I have ever seen!
Just check it out!

Very cute!  So please remember to stop by A Little Gray, hang out a bit, leave some comment love, and be sure and tell her SSB sent ya!

A Tale of Two Flippies

First off, I will apologize in advance that there will be no pics with this post (none of mine anyway)...my husband lost the camera...ah huh.

So we will be without a camera until either he finds it (unlikely) or until we can save up enough $$$ to buy a new one (unlikely).

But on to my story.  Its a sad story of two brothers, flip flop one and flip flop two.  They were separated by fate and then reunited unexpectedly!

My husband and I went out to dinner tonight and of course...it started POURING RAIN outside.  I thought my van was going to float away.  We hung as long as we could to wait it out, but Sam was getting impatient.

Oh well, a little rain never hurt anyone.  Tell that to my right flip flop!
In trying to run hobble to the van (my feet sinking into about 4 inches of water) my flip flop was ripped of my foot and carried away...far away, down the parking lot!  So sad.

The one still attached to my foot was heartbroken facing the trash can with out its brother...cuz seriously, what would I do with one flippy?  The other facing a long and lonely life in the storm sewer.

We pulled out of the parking space me scolding my husband for not getting to my shoe fast enough when alas!  A kind stranger got out of his car to rescue my flip flop!!  Yeah!!!!!

Moral of the story...make your husband pull the car up to the door in the event of in-climate weather.

Bath Salt Tutorial!

So I make some pretty yummy bath salts and I wanted to share with you all a great way to make them...super easy and super cheap!  They make awesome gifts!  I like to give them away to new mothers...perfect for relaxing after coming home with new baby!!

The scent I'm sharing with you is a delicious Pure Vanilla.

What you'll need:
--pure vanilla extract
--1 cup Epsom salt (great for sore muscles and $1 at the Dollar Tree)
--wax paper
--decor or mason jar (I've even made samples using baby food jars)
--pretty material for topper

Step 1:  Take a large mixing bowl and add the salt and a tablespoon of vanilla (add more for a stronger scent).

Step 2: Mix well and then lay it thinly out on a sheet of wax paper to dry.  May take 2-5 hours to dry completely.

Step 3:  While salt is drying, measure and cut a circle of decorative fabric to fit the top of your jar.

Step 4:  Fill your jar with the salt (make sure it is fully dry) and secure the fabric around the lid with a rubber band.

Step 5:  Top it off with a cute ribbon to hide the rubber band and all done!  A custom gift hand made by you!

Don't wanna make it?  Click here to shop!
