Quick and Easy Christmas Ornaments!!!

I LOVE getting Christmas ornaments as a gift!
Getting one as an ornament is special because I remember the person that gave it to me every year when decorating the tree.  Some on my tree I've had for years!

I also LOVE giving Christmas ornaments as gifts!
DIY ornaments are heart-felt and fun.  They are usually easy to make in bulk to give to family, friends or co-workers.  And it's sure to be something used every year instead of some random gift that might end up at the top of the closet...

And best of all...DIY ornaments can be VERY easy on the wallet which is definitely a relief during a busy and budget-minded season.

Here is a true favorite that everyone appreciates.  Great for family (grandmothers adore them) and friends! And very simple to make!  Kids can have fun making them for mom and dad!
Here's a shot of Jack's hand print...
His hand print was placed on the bottom of the bulb, his name on one side, and the year on the other.
I have used red bulbs (that's what I call these type of ornaments if anyone is confused :) but found it was kinda hard to see...especially the name so I switched to white bulbs, green/red paint, and a black sharpie.  A box of 24 count white glass bulb ornaments is less than $5 at most stores.  The paint and marker I had on hand.

DIY ornaments make great party favors too!  My cousin had her wedding a week before Christmas and these were her reception favors!
On the other side is the wedding date.
She had a huge Christmas tree at her reception covered in these cute bells and used red ribbon as garland!  I've found similar ornaments the $1 store!

"Heart-made", simple gifts that everyone loves!  Enjoy!

I have a great many things to be thankful for this year...almost too many for just one day.
My cup runneth over!
Best wishes to you and yours!

By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

Eezy Peezy Garbage Catcher for the Car

So, I went and had my car cleaned out because me and my husband are lazy and detailed and after filling a Walmart sack full of trash (wrappers, Kleenex, straw wrappers, etc...don't judge), I decided something needed to be done.

I actually have been meaning to make one of these forever...I first saw them at Fireflies and Jellybeans.  Anyhoo...I thought, "I can do that."
What do you think?

1.  All I did was take a square piece of fabric (make any size you need) and folded it in half.

2.  Then I cut and measured a coordinating fabric to make a border around the top.

3.  Then take a piece of fabric (big enough to loop around a knob or whatever in your car) for the loop and tri-fold it.  Then sew right down the middle of the fold to secure it.

4.  I folded the edges of my border piece a little and ironed it still.

5.  I pinned the border to the main piece with the loop in between and sewed all the way around.

6.  Then I boxed the bottom corners and turned right side out.

7.    Lastly, I top-stitched the sides of the border portion for a little strength.

I think I'll make one of these for all the girls in the family for Christmas.  Who couldn't use one!?
Makes a quick gift!  I'll make a tut soon for one with a lining!

Nice and Shiny Secret

So I recently had a haircut...for the first time in like a year...I know.  Bad Ginger.
And due to my negligence my hair was brittle with split ends...just yucky.

And I don't know about you guys, but I can't spend $20 on some fancy hair moisturizer...?
So I did some research and found that apple cider vinegar is really good for brittle hair, makes it nice and shiny and cleans the scalp!

Best thing I had some already in my pantry.  I mix a little in my dogs water dish for fleas/ticks, hot spots, dry skin, etc.
Take about a 1/2 cup in the shower, add a little water in the shower, and pour over your head after shampoo and conditioner.  Work it in with your fingertips and then rinse!
Works like a charm!

Give it a try...for your pet or you!  Don't have any?
You can get a gallon at Walmart for a few bucks.

A Lil Bit of Christmas Shopping!

So Michael got his holiday bonus on Thursday so we decided to immediately blow it on the kids for Christmas!

So much fun!  We've been tight on $$$ the past few years so to really be financially free around these holidays is such a joy and blessing for us.

And Toys R Us has such amazing deals right now!  With a Disney DVD purchase, we received a free Toy Story 3 wall clock (perfect for Jacks room)!  I saved over $60 on everything and was given a $10 gift card!
Woo hoo!  Hope you have fun getting ready for the holidays!

In The Red

DO NOT BE ALARMED!

It's just marker...
 Isn't that terrible looking?!
Michael showed me the pic...he had stolen a red marker from Jack when he was coloring a picture.  I just about had a heart attack!

You can't see in the pic, but he also colored the entire right side of his head!  Luckily, it was washable...and non-toxic.  Phew...

Bedding Boo Boo

So I think everyone remembers that I wanted to re-do Jacks room in a Toy Story theme...?

And I've been collecting stuff to for his new room, including a comforter and shame set I snagged at Walmart for on $20!!!  I was going to save it for Christmas but I thought...what the heck.
SCORE!
Of course Jack was excited and thanked me for his new bed spread by cutting a few holes in it.
Not. Even. Kidding.
He found my scissors and went to work.
I sewed em up and smothered em with Liquid Stitch but the damage is done.

Oh well, on to the room.
I also found these at the Dollar Tree!
Cute little Toy Story 3 night lights...for only a $1!
(I got a Woody too for Sam's room but my camera wouldn't take the pic...?
And I think I may go back for the Rex for the kids' bathroom.)
