So I have seen a lot of different tuts floating around for a baby bib...all really GREAT ones too! So I figured I'd take a stab at it as well. I made mine reversible...2 bibs in one!
This is a very basic tut and easy to follow, so I didn't include pics. But if something isn't quite clear, be sure to email me!
You will need:
2 coordinating fabrics
velcro
sewing machine
thread, scissors, etc.
a baby bib that you already have and like the way it fits (that's important)
Here's a pic of my fabrics I used.
Step 1: So I took two coordinating flannel fabrics and placed the right sides together down on the table.
Step 2: Then take the bib you have and trace a pattern around it (with the neck open!) using chalk...or eyeball it like I did. Leave room for the hem (1/4 inch or so).
Step3: Cut our your bib and make sure that the right sided of the fabric are facing one another.
Step 4: Pin and sew up leaving a hole at the bottom to turn right side out.
Step5: Once all sewn up, turn right side out and top stitch your hole closed and all the way around the bib. *You could do a fancy stitch to add a little interest!
Step6: Cut your velcro pieces (about an inch long works). Line them up where you want them on your bib. *Use your existing bib as a reference if needed.
Step7: Sew on your velcro using a tight zig zag stitch and you're all done!
A custom bib made for your baby by YOU!
Wanna buy one? Email me today to place a custom order! I also make burp clothes, paci clips, boppy covers, and matching sets!
Hehe! Look at him being silly...
