Halloween is Gett'n Closer!

So here is a shot of our front porch so far!!!

Not bad...of course, everything looks scarier at night with a strobe light going.

Whatever Wednesday #10

So we finally got a chance to decorate the front porch for Halloween!  I got to put up my new goodies, but didn't get to take a pic!  Got too dark :(

So I'll post that tomorrow!

But we did make some scary monster Halloween cupcakes!

Look at this little guy!

Not as fab as some other monster cupcakes I've seen floating around bloggy land, but we had a blast making them!  Jack's face got covered in chocolate icing...I think more icing ended up on him than on the cupcake itself!

Here's the whole spooky clan!

All it took was some foil wrapped eyeballs and candy corns to make cute, quick little Halloween monsters!

But we had fun!  Enjoy!

A $20 Halloween!

So I noticed that a lot of our Halloween decorations were missing this year...?

Hmmm.....I think hubby may have misplaced a few boxes.  I can find all my fall decor, but only one box of Halloween stuff!?  Grrr...

Oh well, an excuse to pick up a few new things!  And I was thinking about pulling off an awesome Halloween under $20!

(not including candy...candy is WICKED EXPENSIVE!!!)

So I stopped by my $1 store and picked up these things.

Nothing too scary...Jack is starting to decide for himself whether something is too spooky or not...most often, it's too spooky.

And I've been wanting to pick up some of these for the past few years...finally got some for my front garden!

HALLOWEEN LIGHTS!!!

Anyways, so far my total is $9.00.  And since I just can't wait...I'm gonna go ahead and put up what I got so far...just for the fun of it.  I'll post pics soon!

Halloween Party Tip!

A few years ago...in fact MANY years ago when I was a kiddo, my parents and I threw a Halloween party for all the kids.  Cake, candy, costumes, the works.

 

And I had the idea of providing spooky food...but not for eating.

Confused?  I'll elaborate.

 

A bowl of cold cooked spaghetti noodles = a bowl of wiggly worms!

A bowl of grapes = a bowl of eyeballs!

A plate of carrots = a plate of monster fingers...

And some celery sticks = a pile of cold bones...

And a bowl of jello = a bowl of BRAINS!

Line up your spooky food, blind fold your guests, and let them "feel" the food for themselves...eewwww!

Its a great game for kids!  Enjoy!
