10 Minute Kitchen...for FREE!

So Jackie was talking tonight about cooking a "big dinner" and a little play kitchen is something I've wanted to get the boys for awhile, but just never got around to it.

I've seen a lot of DIY kitchens online and have wanted to tackle a few.  Like this one.
But I'm a little intimidated.  Trying to turn an old dresser into a play kitchen...?  Nope.

But I heard about bin kitchens and have seen a few around bloggy land like this one.
I thought I could do that!  And I did.

I took the easy way out and pulled this puppy together for free in under 10 minutes...probably sooner if Jack would've stopped bugging me.

I already had an empty bin not in use.  I traced some circles out of construction paper and cut em out.  Four big ones for the burners, four small ones for the top knobs and 4 more small ones for the front knobs.
Then taped em all down with clear packing tape.  All done!

The hard part was figuring out what I could do without in my kitchen, so Jackie would have some stuff to cook in his kitchen.

So even though this is a free project so far, I think we'll be heading up to the local thrift store this weekend to find some inexpensive cookware for the budding chef!

Enjoy!

Whatever Wednesday #17

Well, my Whatever Wednesday is a little late this week.  Hubby would not get off the computer yesterday.
It is so sad how we fight over computer time...really?

By the time I actually had a chance to get on to post, I was so tired I couldn't stand it.
This weeks Whatever Wednesday is just as simple as ever...

Just Jack and Sam playing beautifully (and quietly) at the table one night before Christmas.  I was sitting at the computer (oddly enough) and I heard Jack just talking away to Sam about "Christmas Day and the presents and that all the family would be there..."
We had been talking a lot about the meaning of Christmas and how special it was so he felt the need to discuss it all the time.  Such a grown up boy!

And it won't be long and Sam will be talking up a storm...gosh, they sure are growing up.

Whatever Wednesday #16

Hi all!  Hope everyone had a great Christmas!  Ours was AMAZING!  We had a great time with family and friends and I hope you had the same.

This weeks Whatever Wednesday is just plain cute...
Jack has a courageous fashion sense.
He was standing for a picture but got a little shy.  He decided to dress himself the other day
and he chose an orange and tan stripped shirt with blue plaid shorts...both on backwards.

What a cutie-pie!

Merry Christmas with THE BIG REVEAL!

Merry Christmas everyone!  And here is the big reveal...finally.
Just in time, huh?

For the finishing touches, we used glitter...a lot of it!
I used plain ole Elmers glue for detailed parts and spray glue for larger areas.

Here are my candy canes...

And my north pole...

My angel...
And my other angel...he wanted to be one too.

We cut bowes for the present instead of painting them on.  We glued them with wood glue and weighted them down.  Same with the star for the tree.

So now I have some beautiful yard decorations for Christmas to used with love for year after year!

It was a lot of work and took me a lot longer than expected, but I am pleased with the results!
Happy Holidays!
