Snuggly Buggly Wuggly!!

Yet...another snow day here and I'm getting a little cabin fever.  Being cooped up in the house for a whole week is wearing on me, but its not all too bad.  Some cute memories were made like...

Snuggly Buggly Wuggly!
I caught the kids all snuggled together in the chair watching cartoons.  So sweet!
Check out Jacks face once he discovered I was taking pics!!

AHHH!  hehehe!

Revealing What a Kid I Am...

So, I have to admit...I'll watch Christmas movies year round.  And my absolute favs are the old Christmas cartoons that everyone remembers.

Here is a walk down a Christmasy memory lane...
How the Grinch Stole Christmas

Twas the Night Before Christmas

Rodulph the Red-Nosed Reindeer

Frosty the Snowman

And a Charlie Brown Christmas!
Enjoy!

Whatever Wednesday #15

When I was a kid, my mom would let me hang a few ornaments and then touching the tree once completed was forbidden!
But I want Jack and Sam to remember decorating the tree (and Christmas as a whole) as a fun and joyous time with family...not that my childhood Christmas weren't, but it wasn't fun to not be included in decorating fun.

So I came up with some fun games and activities involving your Christmas tree!

A great way for your kids to enjoy the tree, but also learning to respect and treat it carefully.

Activities:
1.  Let them pick out a special ornament from the store.  If its an ornament of their very own, they will be more likely to treat it carefully.
(This year, Jack picked out a Buzz Lightyear ornament...he carried it home like baby and still points it out to EVERYONE!)

2.  Make paper ornaments (snowflakes, etc.), popcorn and cranberry garland, or hand-painted ornaments.  Jack felt a great sense of accomplishment once he knew he contributed something to the tree.

Games:
1.  Enjoy looking at some sentimental ornaments.  Include a story about that character or how you received that ornament.

2.  Spy some Christmas shapes!  Find all the bells, stars, or angels on the tree.

3.  Christmas Color fun!  Find all the red, green, or white ornaments on the tree.

4.  Christmas Counting fun!  Count all the different ornaments...or even the presents underneath the tree!

5.  Christmas fun with textures!  Look at all the different textures...is it a shiny ball, or a glittery angel?

Hope you have a happy tree!!!  Enjoy!

A Rainy Day Score!!!

So we decided to make a quick trip to the grocery store and alas, it started raining...HEAVILY!

We get totally soaked loading up the kids and the groceries into the van and then heading thru our neighborhood, I see a driveway FULL of goodies with a big FREE sign on the garage door!!!

Now normally, I would just look longingly at all the goods but not stop...especially with my husband.  But since I was already drenched and couldn't get any wetter...I said what the hell!

I got out and snagged one of those Little Tikes push cars.  The door is missing and its dirty but once cleaned up, Jack will dig it!

And I got this!  I'm so excited!

The pics don't do it justice.  I just love this 50's look!
Not sure what I plan to do with it, but hey!  It was FREE!!!

There was a bunch of other stuff I wanted to snag, but of course, hubby reminded me that Christmas was coming...
...and the tornado sirens were going off.  With that, we boogied home!

Whatever Wednesday #9

Hey folks, doing Whatever Wednesday a little late this week.  Time just got away from me!
And Sam hasn't been feeling too good...poor baby :(

And getting ready to decorate the house for Halloween right on time a little late as well.  YIKES!

But anyhoo, check out Jack...crazy guy.
Going on a quick trip to Walmart with daddy...and this is what he chose to wear...?
Elmo house shoes, handy man tool pj pants, a Chewbaca t-shirt, and to top it all off...a Spider Man beanie cap.  STYL'N!

Here he is in a cute pose.

And in an action pose pretending to be Buzz Lightyear.

And this is "The kitty won't sit still" pose after chasing the cat around.
I have to say that I just LOVE  this stage in children...the dress-up stage!
They have the funniest ideas on dress-up and costumes...so adorable!
(And in case you are wondering...we let him go to the store like that.  It was just too cute.)

Post a comment with all the funny things your kiddo dressed up in!  Can't wait to hear it!
Enjoy!

2 jobs+2 kids+1 husband = freak'n tired

So yeah...I'm pooped.
I've been trying to recharge on the weekends, but that's when it all really hits the fan!

Let's see...the starter went out in the van and the outdoor a/c unit went out.  Crap.

So I'm trying to unwind on the puter...is that possible?
Tonight, I've been commenting on all the Mad Skills linker-uppers...great stuff folks!
And while I've been doing that...I've been surfing Playlist.com and doing another playlist of mu-sak!

I invite you to listen!  Check out the link below:

I name it after my husband and I so we could have something to listen to while cleaning...?  I dunno.

WARNING:  Some lyrics are VERY explicit!  Don't judge either...I like what I like :)
Well have a blast jamm'n funky ladies!

A Tale of Two Flippies

First off, I will apologize in advance that there will be no pics with this post (none of mine anyway)...my husband lost the camera...ah huh.

So we will be without a camera until either he finds it (unlikely) or until we can save up enough $$$ to buy a new one (unlikely).

But on to my story.  Its a sad story of two brothers, flip flop one and flip flop two.  They were separated by fate and then reunited unexpectedly!

My husband and I went out to dinner tonight and of course...it started POURING RAIN outside.  I thought my van was going to float away.  We hung as long as we could to wait it out, but Sam was getting impatient.

Oh well, a little rain never hurt anyone.  Tell that to my right flip flop!
In trying to run hobble to the van (my feet sinking into about 4 inches of water) my flip flop was ripped of my foot and carried away...far away, down the parking lot!  So sad.

The one still attached to my foot was heartbroken facing the trash can with out its brother...cuz seriously, what would I do with one flippy?  The other facing a long and lonely life in the storm sewer.

We pulled out of the parking space me scolding my husband for not getting to my shoe fast enough when alas!  A kind stranger got out of his car to rescue my flip flop!!  Yeah!!!!!

Moral of the story...make your husband pull the car up to the door in the event of in-climate weather.
